Rob Bredow at VIEW
The VFX Supervisor and co-producer of the newly released Solo: A Star Wars Story, Rob Bredow has been announced as the latest keynote speaker at the VIEW Conference, set up to take place in Turin in Italy, October 22 to 26, 2018.
Rob Bredow has recently had a massively meteoric rise already in his career. In addition to supervising the visual effects for this second film in the Star Wars anthology, Bredow was recently appointed senior vice president, executive creative director & head of ILM. Bredow will be in charge of all four of ILM’s global studios. That’s 2000 employees in San Francisco, Singapore, London and Vancouver. The panel of creative directors in the San Francisco studio alone include Rob Guyett, Dennis Murren, John Knoll and Scott Farrar. Look these names up on IMDB, I dare you.
Bredow joined Industrial Light & Magic as a visual effects supervisor in 2014, previously heading up a team at Sony Imageworks. He helped launch ILMxLAB in 2015 to develop, create, and release story-based immersive entertainment. In 2016, Bredow was promoted to chief technology officer of Lucasfilm.
The VIEW Conference is Italy’s premiere event for VFX, CG, VR, AR and all kinds of mixed reality. Turin is the most amazing baroque city and is the perfect place for a week of presentations, workshops and screenings. This boutique conference takes place October 22 to 26 and registration is now open.
