VIEW Conference Full Program Gems include VFX Supervisors, Directors, Cinematographers and will be virtual as well as In-Person in ITALY.
The 22nd Edition of the VIEW Conference 2021 is fast approaching. The full program is now available to check out at the site set up for the event, which this year will be a mix of presentations, Q&As, videos and panels, both online and face-to-face from the OGR venue in Turin ITALY. VIEW is set to take place October 17 to 22.
Sir Roger Deakins, Oscar-winning cinematographer of films including The Shawshank Redemption, Fargo, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, A Beautiful Mind, Skyfall, Sicario, Blade Runner 2049 and 1917, will receive this year’s coveted VIEW Visionary Award. Sir Roger Deakins CBE is an English cinematographer, best known for collaborating with directors Denis Villeneuve, Sam Mendes, and the Coen brothers. Deakins is a member of the British Society of Cinematographers and the American Society of Cinematographers, and has received five BAFTA Awards for Best Cinematography. Nominated fifteen times for an Academy Award for Best Cinematography, he has won that award twice for Blade Runner 2049, and 1917.
For the VIEW Conference, Sir Roger will be presenting and will be interviewed by Dean DeBlois. Directed of Lilo & Stitch, and How to Train Your Dragon.
“Roger Deakins is one of the true living legends of filmmaking,” says Conference Director Dr. Maria Elena Gutierrez. “Throughout his career, he has captured some of the most iconic and memorable images ever committed to the screen, from Tim Robbins exulting in the rain in The Shawshank Redemption, to Ryan Gosling exploring a dust-shrouded Las Vegas in Blade Runner 2049. Roger’s unique vision is unparalleled, and it is a privilege to honour his achievements at VIEW Conference 2021 by presenting him with this year’s VIEW Visionary Award.”
Also, SideFX with announce the official reveal of the VFX software Houdini 19 at VIEW, including a curated set of Houdini HIVE presentations.
