Ready to PAUSE
PAUSE FEST, the annual creative business event is on again. Starts 6-8 February 2019, here in Melbourne. After nine years of growing, PAUSE founder George Hedon understands completely how disparate the creative community is in Australia. He wanted to inject global innovation and excitement into Australia’s local tech culture. The goal was to create a new home for collaboration, ideas, relationships and, most importantly, for the future to take shape.
Today, PAUSE draws global luminaries from a huge range of industries and is the leading conference and festival of its kind in the world. There are different streams at PAUSE FEST, the Programming Matrix which is curated in three areas: Creative, Tech and Business. There are so many ways to benefit from going along (and taking part) in the PAUSE FEST, I have included a link to a PDF (below) which can help convince your boss.
While there are big ideas, the focus is on practical skills that can and should be working in the real world today. When deciding on who should present, the curators looked for ideas that could NOT be Googled. They were looking for people with Actionable Insights (70%); also looking for Future Trends hitting markets within 2 to 5 years (20%), and also ideas that will materialise after 10 to 20 years (10)%).
This year, PAUSE will have:
7 stages
30+ international speakers
200 local speakers
24 workshops
18 panels
30 startups
21 tracks of content
Sitting in their proven event venue of Federation Square in Melbourne, PAUSE has been described as “Australasia’s SXSW” and as “Woodstock for digital natives”. Last year, they had over 400 startups, 1200 businesses and over 35 media outlets from across Australia taking part.
Do you feel like Australia is too far away? PAUSE can arrange your travels, book your accommodation and greet you with the Leader ticket when you arrive in Melbourne. They’re also running their Pause Retreat (which sold out in 2018) again, by application only.
